Civil Engineering & Duct Installation

Project Overview

NVM delivered a full civil engineering package on the Bury Grid to British Sugar project in the Bury St Edmunds area, supporting the installation of a new 33kV cable route.

The project involved the construction of approximately 6.5 km of trench excavation, installation of duct infrastructure, and delivery of associated civil works, including HDD crossings. NVM was responsible for the end-to-end delivery of the duct installation, including excavation, installation, backfilling, and preparation for reinstatement.

Maintaining consistent daily production and meeting programme requirements was a key challenge on this project. NVM successfully delivered the works while maintaining high levels of performance, ensuring the programme remained on track and supporting the client’s delivery objectives.

Throughout the project, NVM maintained strong health and safety standards, successfully meeting audit requirements and receiving positive feedback during inspections.
